Merritt Shock defeated Dirty birds 10-5 on Sunday. Merritt Shock got on the board in the top of the first inning after Grayson S singled, scoring two runs, and Xavier S doubled, scoring one run.
Dirty birds tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Bryton, and a single by Weston.
In the top of the second, Merritt Shock broke up the tie when Cashon W singled, scoring one run. Then a triple by Baylor H followed to extend the lead to 6-3.
Briggs N led things off on the hill for Merritt Shock. They allowed nine hits and five runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Grayson threw one inning of scoreless ball for Merritt Shock in relief. The reliever gave up zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
Merritt Shock collected 19 hits in the game. Xavier went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Merritt Shock in hits. Baylor and Grayson each drove in two runs for Merritt Shock. Dax C, Easton M, Briggs D, Braden L, and Mac F each collected multiple hits for Merritt Shock. Merritt Shock didn’t commit a single error in the field. Grayson had the most chances in the field with 10.
