Elk City Schools fully staffed with teachers

It is well-documented that Oklahoma and most states have a shortage of teachers.

It is well-documented that Oklahoma and most states have a shortage of teachers.

As the school year quickly approaches, Elk City Public School Board members learned that ECPS is among the lucky few who are fully-staffed with teachers.

The board met for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting at approximately 6 pm on July 10. The meeting was brief and smooth, lasting approximately 30 minutes.

The agenda list was also short. All agenda items were approved, including the capacity limits for student transfers.

The board also approved new handbooks for the elementary, secondary, and virtual schools.

Math and science courses taught through Western Technology Center were approved.

ECPS approved a contract with Leedey Public Schools for speech services. This is part of a cost-sharing effort to provide needed services for students.
