A 21-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with unlawful actions related to licensed dealers and private sellers.

On July 5, the Elk City Police Department was contacted by a local pawn shop owner in relation to a firearm interaction.

The following day, an ECPD detective spoke with the man.

The detective reportedly learned about an attempted purchase made by Jacquay Waylon Ivory.

Ivory allegedly left copies of two forms of identification.

However, the the store owner discovered through court records that Ivory has two protective orders, and current charges of domestic abuse by strangulation and aggravated possession of child pornography.

Those charges prohibit Ivory from purchasing a firearm.

The detective looked over forms that Ivory allegedly filled out where Ivory had reportedly “lied.”

Signing the form with incorrect information is a felony.

The detective then spoke with Ivory, who allegedly agreed that he was currently indicted for those charges. The paperwork explains that falsifying the report is a felony.
