1-40 wreck near Sayre leaves one hospitalized

A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol details a semi collision on I-40 near Sayre on June 23.

According to the incident report, a 43-year-old Richmond Hills, New York, man was driving a 2019 Freightliner shortly after midnight when the semi departed the road.

The semi continued to travel approximately 1,500 feet before coming to a rest by running into a creek.

The driver, Ramjid Singh, was mediflighted to OU Medical Center in downtown Oklahoma City to be treated for internal trunk injuries.

Singh was admitted in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation, which is common for interstate collisions.

However, court records do not indicate that Singh has been charged with traffic violations.

A seatbelt was reportedly in use.
