A 54-year-old Erick man has been from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond after being charged with child abuse.
The investigation began on June 28 when Michael Dean Richardson reportedly went to the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office to report a runaway juvenile.
Later that day, the juvenile reportedly turned himself to the Erick Police Chief.
The juvenile allegedly stated that Richardson had “hit him multiple times in the face and body.”
The child also alleged that this abuse had happened other times over the years, but had never told anyone.
The suspect allegedly admitted to the assault.
