A 21-year-old Elk City man has been charged with domestic assault and battery after Elk City Police say that they found evidence of domestic assault.
The investigation began against Alex Luis Ramirez at approximately 12:07 am on June 19 when ECPD officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Van Buren in reference to a reported domestic assault that had allegedly occurred.
Officers knew the alleged suspect had reportedly fled the scene in a red Firebird.
Two ECPD officers arrived at the scene and met with the alleged victim.
The alleged victim reportedly stated that she and Ramirez had gotten into an argument that led to a physical altercation.
The woman reportedly said Ramirez had punched her in the stomach, so she grabbed his arms to hold on.
She reportedly said she bit his hand while he allegedly hit her.
Officers photographed her alleged injuries.
The alleged victim was transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center for assessment.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Ramirez.
