During the week, camper small groups each elected a representative for the Energy Camp Board of Directors. The Energy Camp Board of Directors then had the opportunity to interview candidates and hire a general manager of Energy Camp. This year, the Energy Camp Manager was Emerson McElroy, representing Choctaw Electric. She did a fantastic job of leading the camp in her role.

On behalf of all the 2023 Energy Campers, we would like to thank the electric cooperatives of Oklahoma for allowing students the opportunity to attend Energy Camp. We are grateful for the memories we made and the relationships we developed.

Students selected through the local Energy Camp Contest and sponsored by North-fork Electric Cooperative were Walker Butler from Reydon and Alexander Misener from Canute. Walker’s parents are Aden & Kyleigh Butler and Alexander’s parents are David and Verena Misener.

The local Energy Camp contest is open each year to eighth graders attending school or homeschooled in the NFEC service area. You can find more information about the contest and camp at www.nfecoop. com/energy- camp.
