Elk City High School Student Honored As Academic All-Stater

Elk City High School AP Language/Composition teacher Holli Manning (right) congratulates Mason Friesen, an Academic All-Stater from Elk City, during the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Academic Awards Banquet, held recently in Tulsa. Friesen, a 2023 graduate of Elk City High School, was among 100 outstanding seniors from Oklahoma public schools who were honored by the foundation as Academic All-Staters. He received a $1,500 Academic All-State award sponsored by First National Bank & Trust of Elk City. Manning was Friesen’s honored teacher guest at the awards banquet and presented him with his All-State medallion. The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is a statewide nonprofit organization that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in Oklahoma’s public schools.
