Montie Smith

Montie Muriel Smith, 88, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on October 4, 1934 in Milo, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Port and Ruby (Johnson) Fogle. She went to look upon her Lord and Saviors face on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Elk City Nursing Home, Elk City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.

Montie Muriel Smith, 88, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on October 4, 1934 in Milo, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Port and Ruby (Johnson) Fogle. She went to look upon her Lord and Saviors face on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Elk City Nursing Home, Elk City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.

Montie married Orbay “Smitty” Smith in Gainsville, Texas on July 17, 1956 and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2000. They lived in New Mexico and Texas before moving to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1971 to make this their home. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at First Assembly of God Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Kevin Akins will officiate. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing her memory is her three daughters, Susie Cupp and her husband, Jerry of Elk City, Oklahoma, Brenda Hughes and Tim Grob of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Debbie Clifton and her husband, Bo of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons, Ron Smith and his wife LaDean of Elk City, Oklahoma, Jim Smith of Norman, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Jacob Cupp and his wife, Alison of Atoka, Oklahoma, Drake Hughes of Ada, Oklahoma, Madison Jacobs of Edmond, Oklahoma, Gene Ray and his wife Shelby of Clinton, Oklahoma, Michael Ray of Norman, Oklahoma and Sara Smith and Richard Sanders of Arapaho, Oklahoma, Nate Smith and his wife, Mercedes of Elk City, Oklahoma, Shawn Smith of Dodge City, Kansas, Whitney Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Montie is preceded in death by her husband, Orbay “Smitty” Smith; one son, Joe Don Elkins; parents, Port and Ruby Fogle; three brothers and three sisters.
