Texas High-Speed Chase Goes Through Beckham County

Arrest Warrant issued for Delaware man

An arrest warrant was issued in the Beckham County District Court on May 26 for a 21-year-old Delaware man following an alleged high-speed chase that originated in Texas and reportedly ended near Beckham County.

Multiple law enforcement agencies from both Oklahoma and Texas assisted in the investigation.

The suspect, Syed Mohammad Zeeshan, has been charged in Beckham County with eluding police and possessing a stolen vehicle.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the investigation began on April 16, 2023, when a pursuit from Wheeler County, Texas, came into Beckham County.

The Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office had reportedly advised of speeds of over 145 miles per hour.

The suspect was reported to have exited I-40 on exit 7 near the 9-mile marker.

Law enforcement eventually lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle.

A vehicle matching the description was reportedly seen driving in the wrong direction on I-40 near the 17.5-mile marker.

A short time later, law enforcement reported a matching vehicle heading south at the 19mile marker.

Eventually, the pursuit entered Greer County, where officers lost sight of the suspect.

The suspect’s vehicle was reportedly found in Greer County on April 17, 2020.

The suspect was identified as Zeeshan. Officers spoke with an area taxi driver, who allegedly said they picked up a male subject and a female subject matching the suspect’s description.

The taxi driver reportedly took the two people to Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City.
