Brenda and Gary Quinn have seen a lot in their fifty years of marriage. They balanced careers and children, droughts and floods.
The couple had many plans after she retired this last year from Sweetwater Public Schools.
“It’s been mostly to slow down and enjoy each other,” Brenda laughed.
However, Gary has had a “rough couple of months” facing medical issues. His recent open-heart surgery has made having the big party they always dreamed of challenging.
“I would just like to put our picture in the paper to wish him a happy anniversary,” Brenda said.
The couple married in Illinois on May 29, 1973, and share two children.
Additionally, they have one grandson, Taylor, and three granddaughters, Payton, Hadlie, and Teagan.
The couple plans an anniversary trip soon.
