With the Memorial Day holiday coming up, this column will have to be turned in by noon this coming Thursday, 5/25, in order to be out on time for next week’s edition, as they won’t be printing on Monday, 5/29. The City of Erick will be hosting a Vaccination/Registration Clinic on Saturday, 6/3, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the shop behind City Hall. The $20.00 fee includes the city tag and the rabies shot. Services are provided by Stockman’s Veterinarian Hospital. There will be other services and medications offered but those charges will be extra.
Coming up on Wednesday, 6/7, at 4:00 p.m., at the Blue Rose flower Shop, there will be a book reading and signing by Suzanne Gould, the author of An American Cowboy: The Biography of Sheb Wooley. Books will be available for purchase, cash and check only. Admission is free, of course, so come by and meet the author and share any stories you know or were told by your grandparents about Sheb. I can remember going to the Erick Church of Christ growing up and everyone knew when Sheb Wooley was here visiting his mother, because he had a beautiful voice! No offense to the congregation, but you could definitely tell a difference between his voice and the rest of us! ppy Anniversary wishes go out to Joe & Connie Johnson, both celebrating on 5/24; Larry & Carolyn West and Charles & Donna Sanders, with each couple celebrating on 5/25, Jamie & Rachel Gamble on 5/27, and to Chris & Kimberle Gordon Edwards on 5/29. Belated anniversary wishes go out to Dustin and Shayla Hogg who celebrated on 5/21.
