The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Esports program continues to dominate the competition as the Grey Overwatch team and the Blue Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SSBU) team have qualified for the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) National Tournament.

The Overwatch tournament will take place on May 11-13 at 7 p.m. every day, while the SSBU tournament will take place on May 15-20 at varying times. SWOSU’s teams will be competing against other top universities in the country for the national championship title.

The Grey Overwatch team, led by captain Ryan Minden, also known as “Panned-Cakes,” boasts an impressive record this season. They have already secured the NECC Conference Championship, and now they are looking to claim the ultimate prize at the national level. The team’s primary goal is to reach the top four in the tournament.

The Blue SSBU team, led by captain Tanner McMullin, is also poised to make a strong showing in the tournament, having placed as a top 10 SSBU crew battle team within the NECC. With their impressive skills and dedication, they are ready to take on the competition and bring home a championship.

Supporters of the SWOSU Esports program can watch the matches via the livestream on www.twitch.tv/swosuesports or attend in person at the SWOSU Esports Arena in the Wellness Center. We encourage everyone to come out and support our teams as they compete against the best of the best in the NECC National Tournament.

The SWOSU Esports program has made great strides in recent years, and we are proud of our student-athletes for their hard work and dedication. We wish our Grey Overwatch and Blue SSBU teams the best of luck in their matches, and we know that they will represent our university with excellence.
