“Art is something that has stuck with me my whole life,” stated Rivera-Noblitt. She informed us that her art is “being driven with more passion, serving as a key that unlocks my past and sparks hope and exhilaration for my future.”

Rivera-Noblitt has been involved in a multitude of activities such as FFA, BPA, FCCLA, FCA, Student Council, Key Club, National Honor Society, youth groups at First Baptist Church and many others. In addition to submitting personal works of art, she was required to submit letters of recommendation; in every single letter, she was described as driven, selfless, optimistic and hard working. Rivera-Noblitt is the epitome of the dedication and natural talent Augusta Metcalfe possessed.

This scholarship honors Augusta Metcalfe and her legacy. Augusta, the Sagebrush Artist, is known for her depictions of ranch life in the early days of Oklahoma. Augusta’s story with art started at just four years of age and continued throughout her life. Augusta spent her days doing chores and daily tasks around the homestead and would fill her evenings with painting and drawing. Augusta was consistently supported by her family, friends and neighbors who would commission work from her. This scholarship, along with art camp, art competition and other activities aims to support and encourage young artists like Rivera-Noblitt.

Congratulations to Rivera- Noblitt and best of luck to you as you continue to chase your dreams.
