Wileta Marie Wurdeman, age 80, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Chatham Nursing in Elkin, NC.
Mrs. Wurdeman was born May 15, 1942 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Tom and Lucille Sanders Tennery. Wileta was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved to quilt and crochet. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Wileta loved to share her faith and discipling with other women through her special words and touch. Mrs. Wurdeman was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include: her husband of sixty-three years, Woody Wurdeman; sons, Byron Wurdeman and his wife Pamela of Elkin, Herb Wurdeman of Elkin; brother, Johnny Wayne (J.W.) Tennery of El Reno, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Byron Matthew Myers Wurdeman, Chatham Alexander Myers Wurdeman, Mandy Marie Wurdeman; four great-grandchildren, Wilder Wurdeman, Eli Wurdeman, Gigi Wurdeman-Griffin, Graham Wurdeman; cousin, Katie Burrows.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Dylan Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
