A 44-year-old Elk City woman is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond after being charged with knowingly maintaining a dwelling for selling or possessing controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from a search warrant executed by the Elk City Police Department on the 500 block of Patton Circle at approximately 6:15 on March 6.
The residence reportedly belonged to Cori Liane Wallace.
“The Elk City Police Department has a long history of answering drug-related calls to the above-described residence. Officers with the Elk City Police Department are aware that Cori Wallace operates and lives at the residence, which is owned by her father. Officers are also aware that other users and distributors of controlled dangerous substance live at the above described residence to include, but not limited to: April Jenkins, Sarah Chavis, Tyler Dorian, and Joshua Todd. I believe based on my training, experience, and shared information with other officers that Cori Wallace maintains this residence for consumption, sale, and distribution of controlled dangerous substance,” the reporting officer wrote.
The officer then detailed calls to Wallace’s residence dating back to June 18, 2021, that allegedly involved drugs. Eight separate incidents were listed.
The most recent was on March 5, 2023. On that date, Elk City Police Department offi cers were dispatched to a home to respond to a 36-year-old man found deceased.
The officer wrote that evidence was found that led officers to believe that the man possibly died from an overdose.
Officers could access the man’s text messages through the help of the deceased man’s family.
Within the text messages, evidence was al- legedly found that suggested that Wallace would inject controlled dangerous substances into other people’s bodies.
Following the March 6 search warrant, Wallace was arrested.
Also arrested were Audrick Phillips, Joshua Todd, Tyler Dorian, and Darin Gentry.
Phillips was arrested for a valid Beckham County arrest warrant and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gentry was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia.
“Items of CDS paraphernalia, indicating drug use, were located throughout and in every room of the residence. Due to Wallace, Todd, and Dorian living at the residence, the charges of maintaining a dwelling where controlled dangerous substances were used and sold are to be filed. April Jenkins and Sarah Chavis left prior to the search warrant being served. A warrant request on both Chavis and Jenkins for maintaining a dwelling where controlled dangerous substances are being sold will also be filed. Both Jenkins and Chavis live at the above-stated residence,” the officer wrote.
Wallace is due back in court on April 17.
Elk City Police Department detective Sammy Weygand is asking the public for any information related to Wallace’s alleged criminal activity or drug activity that may have occurred at the Patton Circle residence.
