A 53-year-old Ames, Oklahoma, man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on one count of embezzlement and one count of bogus check con game after allegedly “fraudently appropriating” 184 head of cattle that belonged to a local rancher.
The defendant, identified as Darin Wayne Suit, had reportedly been “entrusted” the cattle.
The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture investigated the case.
The investigation began on January 6 when the special agent was contacted by the alleged victim. The alleged victim reportedly stated that he and Ames were supposed to buy bred cattle and partner on them until the cows had their calves.
Suit was reportedly wired $284,000 by the alleged victim.

SUIT
Suit was allegedly supposed to find a buyer.
The agreement was made last August.
After the calves were allegedly sold or were supposed to be sold, Suit allegedly never wired the alleged victim his portion of proceeds that would have been generated.
