Erick Ramblings

Don’t forget to spring forward with your clocks this Sunday, 3/9! This is so hard for most of us who must get up and head to work or school an hour earlier than we have been these past several months! But, on the positive side, the sun will not set as early anymore until fall.

Congratulations to the Erick Bearcats and to the Lady Bearcats! The Bearcats made it to the Area tournament but fell short to head to state. Congratulations to the following players who made the Cottonbelt All Star Conference games at Western Oklahoma State in Altus. The girls that were chosen were Maddy Bussey, Kylee Miller, Jalie Needham, & Lily Oren. All star players on the boy’s team chosen were Caden Bussey, Baylor Crosby, Morgan McIntyre, & Leyante Prince.

Congratulations also goes to the Erick FFA students who will receive their State FFA Degree. These include Christian Iglesias, Fisher McGuire, Morgan McIntyre, Kylee Miller, Jalie Needham and Brenton Stanford.

Our sympathy and prayers go out to the family of Phyllis Hatter. Services were pending at the time of this column.

Happy Anniversary wishes are being sent out to Eldon & Kathy Blount on 3/11. If you know of any that you want mentioned, please let me know. It’s too late when I see them on Facebook and the same with birthdays!

Birthdays to celebrate for this issue (3/8-3/14 will be: 3/8-Tiffany Stanford & Lizzie Kendall; 3/9-Amanda Benavidez & Danny Glidewell; 3/10-N/A; 3/11-Kitty Boyd, Judy Greer & Lindsay Reimer; 3/12-Jace Potter; 3/13-Chris Cox, Judy Cummins Holland & Kolton Kromer; and on 3/14-Kama Abla, Sam Hagan, Karen Gracey, Jamie Harrell & Vickie Sue Martin.

Another reminder; the City of Erick and Roger Miller Senior Citizen Center, in conjunction with SWODA, have been awarded funds to provide meals twice weekly to individuals aged 60+ or handicapped/ disabled persons. The cost is $3.00 per participant and will be available for pick up or delivery on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meals will be served by Main Street Bakery and Cafe. For more information, contact Eric City Hall.
