The people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas have awarded Sweetwater High School teacher Robbie Ezzell with 5,000 dollars for being recognized as one of the Top Twenty Teachers of 2024-2025.
Ezzell was selected out of more than 1,200 nominations for his passion for teaching, positive attitude, and initiative. He teaches 7th-12th grade Technology.
“Mr. Ezzell joined the Sweetwater family and from there bloomed things the community never expected,” said Lauren Sandoval. “Thanks to Mr. Ezzell, our schools were excited to be able to add a wing for the science and technology department because he showed there is a need and a drive for the students.”
Sweetwater High School will also receive $2,000 for science and math supplies. Ezzell was formally recognized at his school on February 13th.
“The people of Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas are passionate about recognizing teachers for their efforts in creating the next generation of leaders,” said Oklahoma Energy Resources Board Executive Director Mindy Stitt. “It is a joy to recognize some of our state’s exemplary educators.”
Superintendent Casey Reed expressed his gratitude to OERB and his pride in his teacher, Mr. Ezzell: “ We are fortunate to have a teacher with the skill and dedication to his job and his students’ success that Mr. Ezzell exhibits. In the three years he has been here, our STEM program has reached pinnacles of success with robotics, Esports, and computer science. We appreciate OERB’s recognition of our TOP teachers in Oklahoma and especially of our teacher Mr Ezzell.”
