WOFCC Provides List of Supportive Services

Western Oklahoma Family Care Center director, Liberty McArthur, made a list of local resources for transportation, financial assistance, legal assistance, health, housing, and food for the public.

There is a printed resource guide available at the WOFCC office located at their new office, 1031 W. 5th.

The local resources include -St. Matthew Catholic Church on the second and fourth Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. for food; Meals on Wheels have daily meals served at Fairview Village; Second and Adams Church of Christ on the third Tuesdays at 5 p.m.; One Church has nonperishable items only; First Baptist Church on the first and third Thursday for utilities and pantry items; Elk City Blessing Boxes for nonperishable items located at Fairview Village, Union on Main, Methodist Church, Middle School, Community Care Center, Church of the Nazarene; and Presbyterian Church.

Other resources in the community are Action Associates for shelter hotline, 580-323-0838, and domestic violence advocacy and shelter; Red Rock Behavioral Services located in Elk City and Weatherford; Multi-County Youth Services in Clinton for counseling, advocacy and parenting needs; Great Plains Youth and Family Services in Hobart; Southgate Village housing based on income; Jaycee Village housing for those receiving Social Security benefits; Cheyenne Housing Authority housing in Cheyenne based on income; Clinton Walk-in Clinic at the United Methodist Church on the second and fourth Thursday at 4 p.m.; Beckham County Health Department mobile clinic; and Lions Club Glasses Program, applications picked up at WOFCC office.
