School board met on February 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
Board Members Present: Brandon Hickey, Bandy Silk, Michael Spieker, and Russell Mariano.
After opening the meeting, the first item on the agenda was the consent agenda.
Included in the agenda was the resignation of a support staff member. The board all approved of the consent agenda voting 4-0.
Mr. Wilhelm gave his monthly report to the board: 1. Mr. Wilhelm thanked Mr. Brian Sapp and the Sayre FFA for cooking the meal for the meeting.
2. Activities Report: Sayre Basketball had senior night on February 10, 2025 Playoff basketball starts the weekend of February 14-15 with districts at Fairview, Regionals at Watonga the week of February 20-22, and Area at Enid the week of February 27-March 1.
3. Congratulations went out to the powerlifting teams, Coach Craig Hixon and Coach Patton Pugh are taking kids and winning a lot of hardware.
4. Spring sports are right around the corner beginning March 1.
The robotics teams competed in the Nationals in Nashville, TN over the weekend.
5. New baseball lights were put up last week.
Mr. Wilhelm thanked Andrea Weygand for the great job she is doing as the Sayre Schools Chief of Police.
6. And Mr. Wilhelm went over the financial outlook for the remainder of the year, which the schools are in good shape.
The board approved the application for Millie Greene to participate in the Teacher Empowerment Program, this is sponsored by the State.
The board approved Musco Lighting to install new lights at the softball field to be completed by June 1.
The board approved an updated policy regarding support personnel.
The board approved the contract for OKTLE evaluation tool for the 25-26 school year. The board chose not to go into executive session and on the recommendation of the superintendent rehired all of the school principals for the 25-26 school year which includes: Brad Coffman-High School Principal Perry Shelby-Middle School Principal Brook Plummer-Upper Elementary Principal Krista Holland-Lower Elementary Principal
