A 43-year-old Elk City man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond after being charged with felony counts of domestic abuse resulting in great injury and domestic abuse in the presence of a child.
The investigation reportedly began on January 30 when Elk City police received a third-party report of an alleged assault.
The caller reportedly believed the alleged victim’s jaw could have been broken. Upon arrival, ECPD reportedly heard arguing. The officers stated that they could hear footsteps, but no one answered the door.
Eventually, ECPD reportedly entered while announcing their presence. Schaunston Lee Pitts was charged.
