Greer County Sheriff says general public not in danger as victims seemed targeted
News broke late on Sunday evening of a double homicide outside of Granite in Greer County at a remote country home, leaving two victims deceased.
The victims were identified as Christine Danielle Kirtley, 42, and Ryan David Nalley, 40.
Both victims were long time residents of Western Oklahoma and beloved by those who knew them, as evident in posts made in their memory on social media quickly following the murder.
Although the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations is taking the lead into the murder investigations, Greer County Sheriff Steven McMahan spoke with the Beckham County Record about the details.
He said shortly after 10 pm, a 911 call came into the station, but the dispatcher could not hear a voice.
The Greer County Sheriff’s Office was able to track the phones to a location on East County Road 1350 and Old Highway 6 near the Beckham County line.
McMahon said deputies found the door to be “busted or as though it was broken into.”
The deputies quickly discovered the two victims, both with gunshot wounds.
Greer County EMS was called and declared both victims as deceased.
At that time, a suspect was unknown.
However, with the help of OSBI, Kirtley’s estranged spouse was quickly found and determined not to be the suspect.
“He was like 120 miles away and has an alibi that the OSBI determined made him unlikely to be the suspect,” McMahon said.

The Greer County Sheriff’s Office also has an anonymous tip line established on its website, www.greercountysheriff.org.
However, the Beckham County Record spent much of Tuesday and Wednesday receiving multiple off-record confirmations that a suspect has been identified.
Sheriff McMahan went to great lengths on Tuesday to assure the community that there was no continued danger.
