An arrest warrant was issued for a 32-year-old Crescent man in the Beckham County District Court on one charge of child abuse.
Dean Stapp faces up to life in prison if found guilty.
The abuse allegedly occurred in October of 2024.
Stapp is accused of spanking a child with a cord on his bottom and throwing the child on the bed, causing the child to hit his head on the mattress, and by putting a pillow over the child’s face three times.
The child was 10 at the time.
