A 38-year-old man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond after being charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, knowingly concealing stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
The affidavit states that it is unknown where the suspect, identifi ed as Peter Adrian Solis, lives.
If convicted of the fentanyl traffi cking charge, Solis faces up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation began on December 9 at approximately 11:15 am when a task force agent with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics was patrolling I-40 eastbound in Beckham County.
The mile marker number is not noted in the probable cause affidavit.
While traveling eastbound, the agent allegedly witnessed an eastbound silver Nissan with an alleged obscured license plate traveling in the same direction.
The agent conducted a traffic stop.
Th e agent encountered the driver, who was reportedly driving with an expired Louisiana driver’s license.
Charges have not been filed against the driver. It is unclear if future charges will arise, but the driver’s name will be withheld unless charges are filed.
“I also witnessed a male passenger inside of the vehicle attempting to conceal himself with his clothing. Due to the driver handing me an expired driver’s license, I asked the passenger if he had any form of identification when he stated that he did not have any,” the agent wrote.
The driver was reportedly informed that she would be receiving a warning for the alleged obscured license plate.
A second OBN agent arrived on the scene and reportedly conducted a “sniff test” with a narcotic K-9 agent, which reportedly had a “positive alert to the odor of narcotics coming from inside of the vehicle.”
The second agent conducted a “pat down” on the male passenger, who was identified as Solis.
The second agent reported that he allegedly found “multiple narcotics and paraphernalia” inside Solis’s clothing.
This allegedly included pipes that were reportedly considered to be paraphernalia.
Also allegedly discovered were 20 blue pills with a marking of M-30.
These pills allegedly tested positive for fentanyl.
“While searching the vehicle, inside of the glove box in reach and in close contact where Peter (Solis) was sitting, a small baggie containing methamphetamine was located, and tested positive for methamphetamine. The total weight was over three and a half grams. A Taurus pistol was also located and came back stolen from Albuquerque Police Department,” the agent alleged in the affidavit.
The agent was also advised that Solis had a full extradition warrant without bound that was issued out of Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
