The Elk City School Board met at their regularly scheduled meeting at 6 pm on December 9 at the Elk City Board of Education.
After the call to order, the board unanimously approved the previous month’s minutes.
The first agenda item was perhaps the biggest with the presentation from Rick Miller of Britton, Kuykendall and Miller regarding the annual audit.
This year’s audit went up to June 30, which was the end of the school’s fiscal year.
Despite not always receiving state reimbursements in a timely fashion that had been the norm until recently, the school was found to be on firm financial settings.
The board also gave a positive review of Superintendent Mike Sparks’s performance as the school district leader.
The annual superintendent evaluation is standard practice, and resulted in showing a board united behind Sparks.
With the school going into Christmas Break, the meeting was short.
