Results of Beckham County Schools in an annual report card

The scores are combined from six indicators — academic achievement, graduation, English Language proficiency progress, chronic absenteeism, post-secondary opportunities, and overall.

Sayre High School received an overall C, scoring 58%, with the state average at 56%.

SHS’s best score was in chronic absenteeism, with an A, reaching 95.6% against the state average of 80.5%.

English Language proficiency progress was unavailable.

SHS got a C in academic achievement, slightly higher than the state average, with 53%.

The graduation rate was a C. Sayre Middle School had an overall D. Data was not available on English Language proficiency.

Chronic absenteeism was a C, with Sayre at 86.45% against the state average of 80.5%.

Academic achievement was a C, but ahead of the state average. SMS had 49% against the state’s 42%.

Academic growth was a D, with SMS scoring 28% against the state average of 60%.

Sayre Elementary School scored a C, slightly above the state average of 59%.

The SES had two B’s — academic growth and chronic absenteeism.

ELP data was not available. Erick High School didn’t have an overall grade with no data on post-secondary opportunities, academic achievement, and ELP.

The school did achieve a B on graduation rates.

Erick Elementary came in with an A, scoring 84% against the state average of 56%.

Chronic absenteeism brought their score down with an F.

Merritt High School achieved an overall B.

Merritt Elementary scored an A.

English proficiency was their highest score, with an A. Chronic absenteeism was their worst score, with a C.

Academic growth and academic achievement both earned B’s.

Sweetwater High School was only scored in one area: a B in chronic absenteeism.

The SES shined with a B in academic achievement.

Elk City Elementary School didn’t have an overall score.

Chronic absenteeism was their worst, with an F at 70.24% against the state average of 80.5%. Academic achievement and English Language proficiency progress were both C’s.

Elk City High School had an overall C. However, like the other Beckham County schools, absenteeism was a problem with an F.

English Language proficiency was high with a B, outscoring the state average.

Graduation and academic achievements were both C’s.

Elk City Middle School had a solid B. Academic growth was an A, soaring above the state average.

Chronic absenteeism brought the score down to an F.

Academic growth and achievement, though, were solid A’s.
