Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics charges man with trafficking 120 pounds of marijuana

A 41-year-old man was released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond after being charged with trafficking illegal marijuana.

The investigation began on December 8 when an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agent was traveling east on Interstate 40 near mile-marker 10 in Beckham County.

The OBN agent reportedly observed an eastbound vehicle exit into the rest area without using the turn single.

The OBN agent reportedly began a stop a mile down the road.

The driver was in a Chevrolet Tahoe that pulled over.

The agent observed the cargo area had cardboard boxes draped in black cloth.

The driver was identified as Mahdi Ishmael J. Alston.

The OBN agent reportedly asked for a K-9 unit to do a sniff test.

The OBN agent wrote that Alston’s story about his rental vehicle did not make sense.

The agent allegedly found 120 pounds of marijuana.
