A 52-year-old Elk City man has been released on bond after being charged with possession of any substance, compound, liquid or chemical specified for other people to inhale or inject and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation began at approximately 9:42 am on November 18 when the Elk City Police Department was dispatched to the 1100 block of West Second Street after getting a request for a man to be trespassed from a property. Upon arrival, the ECPD officer was contacted by the homeowner, who stated that he wanted Stephen Brann Lewis trespassed from his property.
The homeowner reportedly alleged that Lewis was inside the home without his permission.
The officer entered the residence where he located Lewis, who allegedly admitted he had broken a window and had been staying in the home.
The officer had Lewis step out of the house and informed him that he had been trespassed.
Lewis reportedly stated that he did not have any possessions within the home.
The officer then asked the homeowner for permission to re-enter the home.
The officer noted that the home was mostly without furnishings, but he noticed a backpack that seemed out of place.
The officer asked the homeowner if the backpack was his and the homeowner allegedly stated that it was not.
The officer then checked the bag and allegedly found drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.
The officer then came back outside and asked Lewis about the bag.
Lewis reportedly “changed his story” and allegedly said that the bag was his.
The alleged methamphetamine reportedly field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
