Canute E-Sports Coach talks about new program

My name is Brian Morris, I am the Head Coach for Canute Esports at Canute Public Schools. We offer elementary esports (4th-5th) grade, middle school esports (6th-8th), and high school esports (9th-12th). We are currently in our Fall Season with Oklahoma Scholastic Esports. We have three teams currently heading to the State Championship at SWOSU in Weatherford Oklahoma. The two Middle School teams will play on Dec 6th, 2024 and the one High School team will play on December 16th.

Our College Football Middle School Team is made up of Hudson Beck, Adrian Cortez, and Isaac Andrade. Out of the three Hudson Beck was the only one to make it to state. He just recently ended the season undefeated with a record of 12-0 after going 9-0 regular season, and 3-0 in playoffs. He will be the #1 seed at the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports Middle School State Championship hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State University on December 6th, 2024 and will play a best of 3 series that starts at 12pm.

Our Halo Infinite Tactical Slayer Middle School Team known as the Banished Banshees is made up of 8th Grader Corbin Harbin, 7th Grader Colt Shelton, 7th Grader Ryder Hoffman, and 7th Grader Adrian Cortez. This team competed all season long going 9-0 and 2-0 in playoffs to end undefeated at 11-0. They will take on Blackwell Middle School who also is 11-0 at the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports Middle School State Championship hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State University on December 6th, 2024 and will play a best of 5 series that starts at 2:30pm.

Our The Finals High School team also known as The Canute Chaos Crew is made up of Sophomore Captain Luis Ruiz, Sophomore Jarrod Ibrom, Freshman Bryce Jellison, Freshman Cason Rogers, and Senior Bryler Lewis. This team ended their season undefeated at 8-0 and winning their playoff match against Canadian High School to become the Southwest Regional Champions and qualify as either the West #1 or West #2 seed. They will play for the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports High School State Championship hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State University on December 16th, 2024 against the winners of the NW Regional, SE Regional, and NE regional.
