A -39-year-old Elk City woman is being held on a $7,500 bond after being charged with child neglect in the Beckham County District Court on November 4. The Beckham County Sheriff ’s Office reported the alleged crime to the Elk City Police Department on October 30. Two BCSO deputies had reportedly served an eviction notice to the apartment of Amanda Monie.
According to the affidavit, Monie had two children living in the residence.
The children were at school, but the deputies reported the conditions to be “unsanitary and biohazardous with pervasive animal waste odors and visible fecal matter on walls making it difficult to breathe.”
Also noted was spoiled and improperly stored food.
Nicholas McLaughlin was also reportedly charged, but an affidavit was not yet available.
