Beckham County agrees
While rumors persisted early Tuesday night that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris would carry Oklahoma’s two biggest counties, once against former President and current President-Elect Donald Trump won all 77 Oklahoma counties.
Beckham County was no exception. Although officials with the Beckham County Election Board said provincial ballots — which only account for six votes — won’t be counted until Friday, the Beckham County race was called early and easy.
The unofficial count had President Trump and his Vice President-Elect JD Vance winning 84.31% of the vote with 6,740.
Harris and Tim Walz won only 14.24% with 1,093.
Robert Kennedy, Jr., and Nicole Shanahan came in third as Indepedents with .93%, or 71 votes.
The Libertarian candidates Chase Oliver and Mike Ter Maat earned .34% and 26 votes.
Lastly, Independents Chris Garrity and Cody Ballard knocked down .18% and 14 votes.
Corporations Commission put J. Brian Bingham in office with 80.47%, besting Libertarian Chad Williams (5.6%), and Democrat Harold Spradling (13.93%).
State Question 833, which would have established the creation of Public Infrastructure Districts, failed by about 60% in Beckham County and statewide.
However, Beckham County voters and Oklahoma in general passed SQ 834, which writes into the state’s constitution that only citizens can vote, passed by a mandate of 80% in both places.
