It is WIC’s 50th birthday, and the Beckham County Health Department is inviting the public to a celebration on Nov. 22nd, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at 400 E. 3rd St., in Elk City. They will offer drinks, snacks, and prizes to commemorate the occasion.
“WIC is an Oklahoma Women Infants and Children program for pregnant women, postpartum breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding women and their infants and children who meet program eligibility requirements.
The program includes nutritious foods, education classes, breastfeeding support, and consultations with registered/ licensed dietitians and lactations specialists,” according to Oklahoma State Department of Health.
