OSU Polytech Gains Momentum with $14,700 GCA Donation to OSUIT

OSU Institute of Technology received a generous $14,700 donation from the Gas Compression Association (GCA), marking another year of support for the institution’s technical programs. The funds will provide critical materials and supplies for students, bolstering hands-on learning and workforce preparation.

The donation, organized by GCA's Education Committee, comes from proceeds raised at the association’s annual fundraiser in Galveston. GCA, representing a wide range of companies in the natural gas compression industry, has supported educational initiatives at OSUIT for over a decade as part of its College Partner Program.

In addition to this year’s monetary contribution, GCA donated a classroom set of books earlier this year, further enhancing the educational resources available to OSUIT students.

'We’re incredibly grateful for GCA’s continued partnership,' said Paula Harrold, assistant dean of the School of Engineering and Construction Technologies. 'Their support directly impacts our students by providing them with the tools they need to excel in a technical field that’s critical to our state’s workforce demand.'

GCA has donated over a million dollars to schools across the country since the program’s inception, helping ensure that institutions like OSUIT can provide high-quality, industry-aligned training.

The funds this year will go toward enhancing OSUIT’s polytechnic programs, which focus on real-world learning, industry collaboration, and preparing students for immediate entry into the workforce.

This partnership highlights OSUIT’s dedication to its core pillars of hands-on learning and industry alignment, ensuring that students graduate ready to step into high-demand careers. GCA’s ongoing support strengthens OSUIT’s programs and enhances the opportunities available to its students.
