Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization Hosts Public Events for the “Forward 45” Regional Transportation Plan

The Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) is excited to invite community members to a series of public outreach events dedicated to the development of the Forward 45 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). These events are a key part of SORTPO’s commitment to involving the community in shaping the future of transportation in Southwest Oklahoma.

The Forward 45 RTP is a comprehensive, 20-year strategic initiative designed to guide transportation decisions for all travel modes in southwest Oklahoma. The plan addresses key issues such as transportation safety, system conditions, accessibility, quality of life, and environmental impacts, with the goal of creating an integrated and efficient transportation network for Southwest Oklahoma.

“We are eager to engage with the community and gather feedback that will guide our transportation planning efforts,” said Julie Sanders, SORTPO Director of Transportation. “These public events are a great opportunity for residents to be a part of the Forward 45 plan development, ask questions, and share their ideas and concerns.”

Event Details: Location: Mangum Chamber of Commerce Building – Welcome Center 222 W. Jefferson Street, Mangum OK 73554 Date: November 4, 2024 Time: 5:30pm to 6:30pm Please visit Forward45. com for information on all event dates, times and locations At these events, participants will learn about the Forward 45 RTP’s goals and objectives, take part in interactive discussions and activities to provide feedback, and engage in Q&A sessions with SORTPO team. “These events not only allow us to hear directly from the public but also serve as a platform for open communication between SORTPO and the communities we serve,” added Mrs. Sanders. “ We invite everyone in the community to join us and be part of shaping the future of transportation in Southwest Oklahoma!”
