It’s really beginning to feel like fall around here finally. I love the cool mornings, and I know these farmers are very grateful for the rain that has fallen!
The “Purple People Eater Fest” is finally here! All parties involved have worked very hard to put together this event for everyone to enjoy. The threeday event began yesterday, Friday, September 27th and will last through tomorrow, Sunday, 9/29. You can still take in Wooley’s Bazaar that began yesterday, Friday, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and will be open today, Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Movie night, showing Monster’s Inc., was a hit on Friday, 9/27, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Tonight, Saturday, Sheb’s Shindig will start at 8:00 p.m. and continue until 12:00 a.m., featuring the Jimmy Lee Jordan Band. The Purple King, Purple Queen and Purple Princess will be announced at Sheb’s Shindig on Saturday, 9/28. The parade is at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, 9/28. Come on out and enjoy the celebration!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Roberta Barfield Smith. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, 9/18, at the Erick Cemetery.
Happy Anniversary wishes are being sent out to Jim & Suzanne Lee and to Joe & Peggy Patten, with both couples celebrating on 9/30; to Michael & Kelly Brinkley and also Tom and Tina Harkins, who both will celebrate on 10/1.
