No foul play is suspected in death at Atwood’s parking lot at 2901 South Main in Elk City. According to statements from the Elk City Police Department, the death has been ruled a suicide.
The incident occurred on September 16. The ECPD received the 911 call at approximately 11:45 am.
A detective stated that it occurred in the parking lot nearer the highway. The victim was an 82-year-old man. His name is being withheld. The body has been transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office.
Several law enforcement agencies assisted in the case. They include ECPD’s Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions, the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
