Elk City Girls take second at Oklahoma Golf Regionals

The ECHS showing at last week’s regionals was no exception.

While Clinton snatched the first-place prize, the Elk City girls weren’t far behind, scoring 366. Tuttle rounded out the qualifiers with third place.

Brett Barnett came in third with 83 points. Campbell Rainey won the fifth place spot with a shot of 87, illustrating the tight scores between the top golfers.

Sophomore Jayden Manning had ECHS’s third-best showing with a score of 97.

Senior Caylin Burton was only two strokes behind with a score of 99. Camryn Edney rounded out the group with an even 100.

The Elk City girls will play in the state tournament on Wednesday and Thursday at Weatherford.
