The City of Erick sponsored 2024 Purple People Eater Fest will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9/279/29. Wooley’s Bazaar begins on Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Indoor and outdoor spaces are available but indoor is limited. Forms to sign up are at City Hall, or online, so contact City Hall for that. Movie night, showing Monster’s Inc., will be on Friday, 9/27, beginning at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday night, Sheb’s Shindig will start at 8:00 p.m. and continue until 12:00 a.m., featuring the Jimmy Lee Jordan Band. The first ever Purple Pageant 2024 will be held, for kids 0-18 and still enrolled in school. The Purple King, Purple Queen and Purple Princess will be announced at Sheb’s Shindig on Saturday, 9/28. They are also accepting entries for the parade at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 9/28. Entries can be floats, vehicles, bands, animals, tractors, or even walking and bicycles. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Tina Lynne (Washburn) Smith, wife of Joe Smith. She was a member of the EHS Class of 1980.
Sympathy is also extended to the family of Michael Dean Anderson, a member of the EHS Class of 1974.
