Plumlee Headed to the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame

Army Master Sergeant Earl D. Plumlee, 2021 Medal of Honor recipient, will be inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame on October 26, 2024, at the Embassy Suites, 2501 Conference Drive, Norman, Oklahoma.

Plumlee was born in 1980 in Clinton, Oklahoma, growing up on a farm in Merritt, near Elk City. Plumlee joined the Oklahoma National Guard in 1998. He joined the Marines in 2000 serving as a Force Reconnaissance Marine with a tour in Iraq. In 2009 he inter-service transferred to the Army, qualifying as a Special Forces soldier.

For actions in Afghanistan on August 28, 2013, Plumlee was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry, and in 2021 that award was upgraded to the Medal of Honor and subsequently presented to him. MSG Plumlee retired from Active Duty in 2023.
