Rodeo of Champions still on after loss of livestock

Rodeo of Champions still on after loss of livestock

Sisters from famed Beutler family to be inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame

Labor Day weekend is always a busy, chaotic and beloved week for the Beutler family.

After all, the annual Rodeo of Champions is held at the Beutler arena and the stock is provided by them. While they compete in most professional rodeos, this is their hometown and namesake.

It is only fitting that two of their own - Dollie Beutler Riddle and Vickie Beutler Shireman — were named this week by that the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum as 2024 inductees into the National Rodeo Hall of Fame.

The sisters’ names will stand alongside several others from the Beutler family.

Beutler and Son suffered a loss of multiple horses to contaminated feed that would have forced many stock operators to cancel a rodeo of this size.

However, the family has pulled together to make it work. Friends within the industry have also answered the call to provide for what they lost.

After all, the show must go on.
