Lankford Issues Statement Following Growing Partnership to Support Armed Forces at Fort Sill

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) issued a statement following an expansion at Lawton Fort Sill’s Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA) Innovation Park, a leading center for technological advancement and home to the Joint Counter small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) University (JCU) based in Lawton, Oklahoma.

“Oklahoma continues to put the ‘state’ in our state-ofthe- art military. The FISTA Innovation Park in Lawton streamlines collaboration and enables the Army to utilize advancements to modernize our defense capabilities. This continued partnership is an exciting way to pioneer counter-UAS technologies to defend against threats America faces at home and abroad.” said Lankford.

“It’s great to welcome Epirus to Oklahoma’s flourishing innovation ecosystem,” added Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK). “I’ve long called FISTA a game-changing investment for the future of Southwest Oklahoma—and, with Epirus joining the FISTA community, I have no doubt our state will remain at the forefront of technology modernization for our military.

“Congratulations to the Epirus and FISTA teams on the opening of this new space. Epirus’ pioneering work in next-generation high-power microwave technology to counter unmanned systems is a welcome addition to Oklahoma’s growing innovation arena. With low-cost, attritable systems dominating modern-day conflict, I’m pleased to see FISTA and Epirus continue their work to develop best-in-class technologies to counter emerging threats,” said Representative Tom Cole (R-OK).
