Elk City woman charged with violations of Oklahoma Communication Statues

A 34-year-old Elk City woman has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with violations of the Oklahoma Computer Statutes.

The investigation began on July 22, when an Elk City Police Department detective executed a search warrant for the cell phone of Bryan Pfeil.

At the time, Pfeil was being held in the Beckham County Detention Center.

The detective had reportedly found a conversation Pfeil had had in reference to who he believed was giving the police information in his case. On July 24, the detective reportedly went to the phone again, using the same software that he had previously.

During this time, the phone reportedly reset when the detective at- tempted to access it.

The detective then allegedly found a jail phone call between Pfeil and Amber Cape.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the two discussed their belief that the police had Pfeil’s phone and how to remotely reset it.

During a second jail phone call, Pfeil allegedly asked Cape if she “fixed the problem.”

Cape allegedly said that it wouldn’t erase until it was connected to the internet, but reportedly added that she “did it.”

The detective alleged that this was a plan to “destroy evidence.”
