Elk City Public Schools posted the following to their Facebook page late Monday evening: “There is a NIL scam going around on social media that has our Elk City Softball team attached. Please do NOT donate, this is a scam. Thanks for your cooperation.”
Superintendent Mike Sparks said on Tuesday morning that ECHS Athletic Director Brian Hunt had been alerted to scam by concerned parents and acted to inform the public.
Sparks cautioned citizens not to give money to this scam.
