Dust Bowl Days Farm & Ranch Festival Names Grand Marshal

Dust Bowl Days Farm & Ranch Festival Names Grand Marshal

Michael W. Blevins, local community leader, is the Honorary Grand Marshal of the 2024 Northfork Electric Dust Bowl Days Farm & Ranch Parade.

Mike has been a staunch supporter of the Dust Bowl Days organization since its inception in 2021, but especially since January of 2023 when, in his role as a practicing attorney, generously gave of his time, expertise and resources, enabling the Dust Bowl Days Farm & Ranch Festival Co to acquire its 501©(3) status as a non-profit organization.

He followed that gift up with agreeing to serve as the first President of the Board of Directors for the new group and spent the last 18 months sharing his knowledge and experience with a group of volunteers who had a lot to learn!

It was his patient, candid guidance that brought us through those early days and, though recently resigning as Board President, he remains a good and loyal friend to our organization and we will always be grateful for his willingness to help bring life to a fledgling group of hard working volunteers that wanted to make a difference.

Mike comes by his respect for farming & ranching naturally, being a 4th generation member of a family who has lived on and farmed the land since his great-grandfather, Daniel Lonzo Blevins, settled there in the early 1900’s.

Mike’s parents, Clarence and Betty Blevins, raised their family on the farm out near the Sweetwater community and instilled in them those qualities of hard work, honesty, faith and perseverance. We honor Mike Blevins for those same qualities he continues to live by and we thank him for everything he has done to help this organization continue to grow.
