Sayre man held on $10,000 bond after being charged with domestic abuse

A 29-year-old Sayre man is being held on a $10,000 bond in the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with domestic abuse resulting in great bodily harm and attempting to perform an act of violence involving or intending to involve serious bodily harm or death of another person. The investigation began on July 1 after Sayre Police were dispatched to the 200 block of West Sayre Street for a report of a physical domestic assault.

The alleged victim told police that Ruben James Hogue had choked her, the report states.

The alleged victim reportedly stated that she had blacked out from being choked, but that she had felt Hogue allegedly strike her about the head several times while he was allegedly choking her. Hogue had reportedly fled the scene.

The SPD officer reportedly observed bruising on the alleged victim’s neck, as well as a bump on the back of her head and bruising on her legs and arms.

Photographs were taken of the alleged injuiries.

The alleged victim was taken to the Great Plains Regional Medical Center via ambulance.

The report also indicated that Hogue is being investigated for an unrelated

crime.
