Erick Route 66 Renewal invites everyone to the Summer Movie Night in the Park tonight, Saturday, 6/29, beginning at 9:00 p.m. to Disney Pixar’s “Cars” at the Erick city park. Free frozen treats will be available also! Erick Route 66 Renewal is an organization that strives for the preservation and restoration of Erick as an attraction on Route 66.
The Erick Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the annual 4th of July festivities this coming Thursday, beginning at the city park with several activities planned for that day. The events will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with the frog, turtle and 3 legged races, egg toss and egg roll, followed by the always entertaining boat race. Get your boats started and remember the guidelines on the boats are that it has to be made with tape and cardboard, with a two person team and they must be able to swim. You can use real boat paddles or make your own. The fireworks display will be around dark-thirty that same evening as always. Be sure to clean up your area afterwards if you plan on popping your own football field parking lot.
