The Canute 8U Trojanettes traveled to Chickasha this past weekend for the state tournament and came home the new reigning champions.

Having played together since their first t-ball season in 2021, it is apparent Head Coach Jeremy Gray and his assistants, Jared Atha, Nicole Allen, Justin Edler and Kim Edler have the girls on the right track.

After all, the Trojanettes went into the tournament with a perfect record of 41-0 in the regular season.

“We played in six tournaments, including state, and we were champions in all of those,” Assistant Coach Kim Edler said.

“We won our pre-season tourney, the Elk City Border Wars Tournament, the Edmond Boxer Blowout, End of Season Tournament, Elk City Slugfest and, of course, the OK Kids State Tournament,” Edler added.

During the state tournament, the Trojanettes played give games.

On day one, they beat the Davis Heat 13-0.

On day two, they extinguished the Purcell Fire 152.

Day three saw their only tight game, besting the Chickasha Pink Sox 13-12.

On day five, they first beat the Chickasha Diamonds 15-2 in the semi-finals.

They met back up with the Chickasha Pink Sox in the championship game.

This time, though, the Trojanettes came to dominate and leave no doubt, beating the Sox 13-6.
