A 23-year-old Erick man is being held on a $500,000 bond in the Beckham County Detention Center for charges of eluding police, removing a license plate from a vehicle, operating without a valid driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, injuring standing crops, and aggravated fentanyl trafficking.

A second Erick man, 25-year-old Dalton Keith Greer, has been charged with aggravated fentanyl trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia in that case.
Greer has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $3,000 bond.
The investigation began at approximately 6:50 pm on June 5 when an Elk City Police Department officer reportedly received information about a “suspicious vehicle” being driven by Speed.
Speed was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle from Texas.
At approximately 4:15 am the following day, the officer reportedly observed a vehicle matching the description driving on Randall.
After activating his emergency lights to conduct a stop, the vehicle reportedly did not stop.
The vehicle allegedly accelerated to speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
The pursuit then went into the residential area of West Broadway.
The pursuit continued at speeds of 100 mph onto Pioneer, going north of town outside of city limits.
The vehicle then allegedly drove into a cotton field, driving over sprouting cotton.
After the vehicle stopped, the officer drew his gun and ordered the any occupants from the vehicle at gunpoint.
Several ECPD officers assisted.
Greer was the passenger and was handcuffed.
The driver had reportedly fled by foot. A perimeter was established.
At this point, the Beckham County Sheriff ’s Office was also assisting.
Speed was allegedly found hiding in a nearby barn.
The vehicle was then searched.
Inside, law enforcement reportedly found a green leafy substance and straws with residue.
The green leafy substance, which reportedly weighed 31 grams, allegedly field-tested positive for both marijuana and fentanyl.
