Elk City man jailed for second-degree burglary

A 35-year-old Elk City man is being held on a $6,000 bond after being charged with second-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

A 35-year-old Elk City man is being held on a $6,000 bond after being charged with second-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Maurice Mason Watkins also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

The investigation began on May 29 at approximately 1:03 pm when the Elk City Police Department received a call about a man who had been trespassed. Upon arrival they learned the man, identified as Watkins, was asleep in the house. A crowbar was allegedly found, which was believed to be used by Watkins to enter the home.

Household items had also reportedly been moved.
